Bell has launched a one-day retail promotion timed specifically to coincide with today’s NHL Trade Deadline. The company told us about this Bell Trade-In Deadline promo, which is only available today, March 6.
The deal offers customers a minimum trade-in value of $500 for any functional phone when visiting a Bell store. To qualify for the credit, the device must be able to turn on, and customers must sign up for a two-year Bell SmartPay term along with a two-year rate plan. So yes, there are caveats. But if you have an old flip phone or anything older (like ancient iPhone) that can still turn on and is functional? That might be a good trade-in that’s worth more than what you can get selling it on Facebook Marketplace.
To promote the event, Bell worked with the agency Leo Toronto to produce a series of 15-second television spots filmed on the actual TSN Trade Centre set. These segments feature TSN host Cheryl Pounder delivering “breaking news” style reports about regular customers trading in their mobile devices, mimicking the high-energy format of national hockey broadcast coverage.
Again, this deal is only available today and you’ll have to make your way to a Bell store to get the offer, but again requires a two-year SmartPay term and a two-year plan.
