The review embargo for Apple’s highly anticipated MacBook Neo has officially lifted today, March 10, bringing a flood of first impressions for the company’s most affordable laptop to date.
Positioned as a direct challenger to the budget Windows and Chromebook markets, the Neo marks a major shift in Apple’s hardware strategy, which typically targeted the mid to high-end user.
The all-new MacBook Neo features a vibrant, fan-less design available in four colours (Blush, Indigo, Citrus, and Silver) and is the first Mac to be powered by an iPhone-class A18 Pro chip. Starting at $799 CAD ($679 CAD education pricing), the laptop has a 13-inch Liquid Retina display and up to 16 hours of battery life, making it an interesting first laptop for students and casual users.
