Apple Sets MacBook Pro Event for October 28: ‘Pro and Tell’

Glowing silver Apple logo on black for the Pro and Tell MacBook Pro event invite

Apple has officially locked in a MacBook Pro-focused event for next week in Los Angeles.

That’s according to Apple’s Greg Joswiak, who posted a short teaser on Monday with the line “Can’t wait to pro and tell next week.” The tagline is “Pro and Tell,” and media invites are already out. MacStories editor Federico Viticci shared his invite, confirming the date as October 28 in Los Angeles. Joswiak’s post also included a short glowing Apple logo video that matches the invite art.

This isn’t the usual Apple Park livestream setup. Reporters are being brought to L.A. for an in-person experience, similar to the recent Welcome Home smart home launch. The invite says things kick off at 10 a.m. PT / 1 p.m. ET, which is when we should see the first product details land.

What shows up is still rumour territory, but the expectations line up with recent Apple Store resets and earlier leaks. Apple is widely expected to show a redesigned MacBook Pro with an OLED touchscreen, plus more conventional MacBook Pro and iMac updates on the M6 chip. An OLED iPad mini has also been floated. Treat all of that as unconfirmed until Apple says otherwise.

Canadian shoppers won’t get local pricing until launch day, but if past Pro refreshes are any guide, expect a familiar sticker shock and a week of “should I wait” debates in the comments.

Would you make the jump for a touchscreen MacBook Pro, or are you holding out for a cheaper M6 14-inch?
