Freedom Mobile’s Viral $40/250GB Global Roaming Plan is Back

Alright this is starting to sound like a permanent offer from Freedom Mobile. The company has brought back its $40/250GB global roaming plan again for a limited time.

Freedom Mobile’s website has been updated to push the $40/250GB global roaming plan which includes 50GB of monthly roaming data (120 destinations). After the plan debuted and went away, it came back with a $10 price increase to $50. Now, it’s back at its original $40/month price.

Here are Freedom Mobile’s plans right now, which have been trimmed down:

  • $35/10GB + 1GB Roam Beyond
  • $40/250GB + 50GB Roam Beyond
  • $50/150GB + 20GB Roam Beyond
  • $60/200GB + 30GB Roam Beyond

The $40 plan will end on March 31, while the $50 and $60 plans are showing as a “limited time offer”. The way these pricepoints are laid out, it really pushes the $40 plan as the one to get. Freedom Mobile says a minimum 3-month subscription is required for plans with Roam Beyond data.

To get global roaming data you’d have to pay $85 per month from Rogers, Telus and Bell, so $40 is a big price cut compared to the Big 3.

The Big 3 should offer the same. I bet most of the users do not travel enough to use up the 50G roaming, or even the 250G. It makes users feel like they got a great deal, kind of like signing up for a gym membership..lol

Great points! I do love Freedom though! Curious if Freedom will get access to 5G on their nationwide network from Bell, Rogers and Telus.

On their nationwide network? I know Freedom has 5G on their own network in certain areas but I am talking about while on their nationwide network, when there isn’t a Freedom network signal. Here in Southern Ontario I am only getting LTE/LTE+ while on the Nationwide network.

Not seeing it available on their site. The best I see is $40/100gb + 10gb Roam Beyond. What am I missing?

Looks like it’s not available in Manitoba. I see it if I switch to a different province.
