Kini Mobile Offers Free Hong Kong Roaming for Canadians: Here’s How

Kini Mobile is rewarding its long term customers by adding free Hong Kong roaming data to its monthly plans. The Canadian carrier which launched back in December targeting Filipino customers, is aiming to make travel easier for users frequently moving between Canada and Hong Kong.

There’s a catch though of course. The new data rewards kick in automatically starting from a subscriber’s third monthly renewal. Customers on the All-in-one and All-in-one+ plans (starting at $40/20GB) will receive 10GB of bonus data for both Canada and Hong Kong. Those who stay with the service for a year see that bonus jump to 20GB for each region. Long term users who reach 24 renewals will get 50GB of extra Canadian data and 20GB for Hong Kong use.

Staying connected in Hong Kong requires users to manually or automatically select the SmarTone network and enable data roaming on their devices. This roaming data is valid for the duration of the monthly plan cycle and does not carry over. Kini mobile pauses services if a user hits their limit rather than charging overages.

For those who need more than just data, the company has also launched Hong Kong TO-GO packs. These add-ons range from $8 to $28 and include a mix of roaming data, calling minutes, and text messages.

The All-in-one plans continue to feature no contracts and include 1,000 international long distance minutes to 15 regions. It also offers a 1 Plan, 2 Numbers service that forwards calls and texts from a Hong Kong or China number directly to a Canadian SIM. Users should note that continuous roaming in Hong Kong is only limited to 120 days, so you can’t stay roaming forever of course.

Kini Mobile runs on the Telus network in Canada. For those that travel between Canada and Hong Kong this looks like one offer to consider. Alternatives would be Freedom Mobile’s $40/100GB plan that includes 5GB of global data roaming, which includes Hong Kong.
