Pokémon TCG Pocket Approaches 200 Million Downloads, Gifts Players 120 Hoursglasses

Pokémon TCG Pocket is currently approaching 200 million global downloads across iOS and Android. To celebrate, The Pokémon Company and DeNA Co. are gifting 120 in-game hourglasses to players.
The official Pokémon TCG Pocket account announced that its game is close to reaching an impressive 200 million downloads. “To thank everyone for your continued support of the game, you can log in now to claim x120 Pack Hourglasses as a special gift.”
From now until May 15th, players can log in and receive the reward by going to the ‘Gifts’ tab and claiming it within the in-game mail system. 120 hourglasses can then be used to open 10 packs in the game, bypassing Pokémon TCG Pocket‘s cooldown.
This news arrives shortly after the latest Pulsing Aura expansion launched. So, it’s a great opportunity to open 10 packs for free and begin claiming all of the new cards in the expansion. Within the deck, players can collect cards like Mega Lucario ex, Mega Sceptile ex, Korrina and Arena of Antiquity. Starting on April 30th, Mega Lucario-themed covers and backdrops are available to collect as well.
Pokémon TCG Pocket first launched on October 30th, 2024. The game took off quite quickly, surpassing its first 100 million downloads by March 3, 2025. The game has also crossed $1.5 billion in revenue and was even nominated for an award at The Game Awards 2024.
Pokémon TCG Pocket still lags behind Pokémon GO, which achieved 500 million downloads in its first year alone. However, 200 million is still very respectable. On the 30th anniversary of Pokémon, it seems the audience isn’t slowing down in its consumption of the IP.
