Rogers vs Telus vs Bell vs Freedom: Best Cellphone Plans – May 2026

Four smartphones on a desk displaying mobile carrier logos: Rogers, Telus, Bell, and Freedom Mobile.

We’re about one week into May, so let’s check in on wireless plan pricing from Rogers, Telus, Bell, and Freedom Mobile compares to last month. It’s clear right now is not the best time to jump on a new cellphone plan.

Rogers

  • $60/60GB (was 100GB)
  • $65/100GB (was $70/175GB) — now includes Canada-US-Mexico (was Canada-US only)
  • $80/Unlimited Canada-US-Mexico-Caribbean (new)
  • $95/Unlimited Global (27 countries) (was $90/250GB)

Rogers dropped 40GB from its $60 plan, while the former $70 plan got a $5 price cut but shed 75GB and gained Mexico roaming. The $80 unlimited North America and Caribbean plan is brand new, and the top-tier global plan is now $5 more but offers unlimited data instead of 250GB.

Telus

  • $65/100GB (was $55)
  • $80/175GB Canada-US-Mexico (was $75, Canada-US only)
  • $95/250GB Global (68 destinations) (was $85)
  • $95/Unlimited Canada (was $105)

Telus has raised prices by roughly $10 across most plans compared to April. The one bright spot: the unlimited Canada plan actually dropped $10. The $80 plan also picks up Mexico roaming.

Bell

  • $60/60GB (was $55/100GB)
  • $65/100GB Canada-US (was $65/175GB)
  • $80/Unlimited Canada-US-Mexico (new)
  • $95/Unlimited Global (65 destinations, 5GB roaming/day) (was $85/250GB)

Bell’s entry plan is $5 more but loses 40GB. The $65 plan holds its price but drops 75GB. The $80 unlimited North America plan is new, and the global plan jumped $10 but now offers unlimited data with a 5GB per day roaming cap. Bell yesterday axed its $80 connection fee but also added a $40 charge for buying new devices. Expect its rivals to follow suit at some point.

Freedom Mobile (All plans include global roaming)

Freedom made few changes this month; the main update is the $45 plan, which went up $5 but added 25GB. Every Freedom plan includes global talk, text, and data roaming, making them a compelling alternative to the Big 3’s roaming plans which cost $95 per month.
