Bell Is Handing Out Free 3 Gbps Internet Speed Upgrades to Select Users
Some Bell internet customers are waking up to a surprise in their inboxes, as the telecom giant is rolling out free speed upgrades to select pure fibre subscribers.
A Bell customer shared a notification on Reddit after logging into their MyBell account, which revealed that their home internet download and upload speeds were being boosted all the way up to 3 Gbps at no extra cost.
“To say thanks for being with Bell, we’ve increased your max download speed to 3 Gbps at no extra charge,” the company stated in the notification email sent out to customers.
The perk is designed as a pure loyalty reward for existing pure fibre subscribers, though Bell warns that the complimentary speed injection will disappear if a customer makes any changes to their current internet plan down the road.
While the upgrade sounds good on paper, some users are reporting a bit of a delay in seeing the actual real-world results. The original poster noted that despite receiving the official notification from Bell, their actual Home Hub modem speed tests have yet to reflect the massive 3 Gbps jump, leaving them wondering if the system profile updates just take a few days to fully kick in.
