Bell Media Is Bringing Back ‘The Littlest Hobo’ on Crave With Seth Rogen
The Littlest Hobo is coming back, and Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg are the ones bringing it back.
Bell Media announced Thursday that the iconic Canadian series is getting a live-action drama adaptation for Crave, marking the first project out of its creative partnership with Lionsgate Canada and Point Grey Pictures (the production company founded by the duo; Rogen attended Point Grey Secondary in the Kerrisdale neighbourhood in Vancouver).
The original show ran on CTV from 1979 to 1985 and followed a stray German Shepherd who wandered from town to town helping strangers. It’s one of the more everlasting pieces of Canadian TV history, and Rogen and Goldberg both grew up watching it.
“The Littlest Hobo was a foundational show of our childhood. We are thrilled to have the honour of bringing it back for a new generation alongside our partners at Crave. And though the hobo may be little, we promise big things to come. That doesn’t mean the dog will be huge like Clifford. The hobo will still be little. But the adventures will be BIG,” said Rogen and Goldberg in a statement on Thursday.
Rogen and Goldberg are coming off a huge run with The Studio, which picked up 13 Emmy Awards. No casting, production timeline, or premiere date has been announced yet. More details are expected from the network later.
The iconic theme song for The Littlest Hobo is guaranteed to hit any Gen X or boomer right in the feels:
