Everything Announced at the Xbox Games Showcase 2026

This weekend, Microsoft held its annual Xbox Games Showcase, followed by a Gears of War: E-Day Direct presentation.
Microsoft packed this year’s Xbox Games Showcase with major first-party reveals, surprise revivals, hardware announcements, and a look at what’s coming to Xbox Game Pass over the next two years. From the return of Spyro and Crazy Taxi to new looks at Fable, Halo, and Gears of War: E-Day, here’s everything announced.
Gears of War: E-Day – October 6
Vancouver-based studio The Coalition finally revealed new gameplay for Gears of War: E-Day, showing the devastating Locust invasion that changed the world forever.
The prequel focuses on the origins of Marcus Fenix and Dominic Santiago’s friendship. An open beta is scheduled to begin on August 6, ahead of the game’s launch this fall.
Halo: Campaign Evolved – July 28
Halo Studios confirmed Halo: Campaign Evolved launches July 28. The game includes three new story missions under Operation: METEORITE, featuring Master Chief and Sgt. Johnson on a covert UNSC operation behind enemy lines.
Fable – February 23, 2027
The latest trailer introduced Isabel, voiced by actress Hayley Atwell, while also teasing the return of classic villain Jack of Blades. The footage offered another glimpse of Albion’s whimsical fantasy world, suggesting the reboot will blend humour, magic, and player-driven storytelling in classic Fable fashion.
Minecraft Dungeons II September 29
New environments, enemies, expanded customization, and larger-scale dungeon-crawling action were shown off in the latest trailer.
The sequel builds on the cooperative gameplay that made the original a hit while introducing fresh biomes, loot, and enemy types. Players who pre-order will receive exclusive hero skins, a cape, and a pet companion.
Senua – 2027
Ninja Theory surprised viewers with Senua, a standalone action-adventure set after the events of Hellblade II.
Unlike the series’ previous entries, the new game leans heavily into exploration, combat, puzzles, and large-scale boss encounters. The shift toward a broader action-adventure structure could make it more accessible to newcomers while still retaining the psychological themes that define the franchise.
Clockwork Revolution – 2027
InXile Entertainment delivered an extended look at Clockwork Revolution, its ambitious steampunk RPG.
The new trailer showcased gang warfare, alternate timelines, reactive storytelling, and the Chronometer, a device that lets players alter history and reshape the future. The game continues to draw comparisons to BioShock Infinite, but its focus on meaningful player choices and timeline manipulation could help it carve out its own identity.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4’s DMZ – October 23
Activision revealed a fresh look at Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4, including the return of extraction-style gameplay through a revamped DMZ mode.
Players can deploy solo or with a squad, loot valuable gear, complete objectives, negotiate with rivals, and extract with their rewards. The mode appears to place a greater emphasis on player choice and emergent storytelling, making every run feel different.
Doom: The Dark Ages – Revelations DLC – July 7.
The DLC introduces new environments, puzzles, demons, and the Chain Spear, a weapon that adds new mobility and combat options to the Slayer’s arsenal. The expansion promises to dive deeper into the darker mythology of the medieval-inspired prequel while delivering the fast-paced action the series is known for.
Spyro: A Realm Beyond – Spring 2027
Developed by Toys for Bob, the new adventure marks Spyro’s first completely original game in nearly two decades, featuring expanded exploration and true free-flight mechanics. Longtime fans will be pleased to know that classic voice actor Tom Kenny is returning for the purple dragon’s latest journey.
State of Decay 3 – 2027
Undead Labs debuted the first gameplay trailer for State of Decay 3.
The zombie survival sequel features solo play or four-player co-op, deeper settlement management, evolved zombie threats, and a larger open-world survival experience. After years of anticipation, the gameplay reveal suggests the series is taking a significant leap forward in both scale and ambition.
Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse – October 15
Set decades after Dracula’s Curse, players take control of Rose Belmont as she battles Dracula’s growing influence across a cursed Europe. The project combines classic Castlevania exploration with modern combat systems and progression mechanics inspired by today’s action-platformers.
Crazy Taxi: World Tour – TBD
Crazy Taxi: World Tour marks Sega’s return to the beloved arcade franchise.
The new entry expands beyond a single city with a story campaign, online multiplayer, customization options, and multiple international locations. While the scope is larger than previous games, Sega says it’s working to preserve the chaotic energy and over-the-top driving that made the original such a fan favourite.
Persona 6 and Persona 4 Revival
Atlus officially revealed Persona 6 with a brief teaser trailer.
The publisher also confirmed Persona 4 Revival launches February 18, 2027, bringing a complete remake of the beloved RPG with updated visuals and gameplay improvements. Together, the announcements gave RPG fans one of the showcase’s most exciting moments.
Metro 2039 – February 2027
The first gameplay trailer showcased stunning visuals, new weapons, mutant threats, and a darker storyline set in the tunnels of post-apocalyptic Moscow. Fans can expect the same blend of survival horror, stealth, and atmospheric storytelling that has defined the series.
Wo Long 2: Wings of Ember – 2027
Team Ninja revealed Wo Long 2: Wings of Ember, continuing its fantasy Three Kingdoms action-RPG series.
The sequel launches in early 2027 and promises expanded combat systems and larger-scale battles. Based on the brief reveal, players can also expect new supernatural enemies and deeper martial arts-inspired combat mechanics.
Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy – August 27
Set 15 years before the original game, Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy follows Sophia as she explores a mysterious island filled with ancient secrets.
The prequel expands the universe with more combat, exploration, and lore surrounding the Macula. It looks to be a more action-focused experience while retaining the emotional storytelling the franchise is known for.
Bad Magpie – 2027
One of the showcase’s more unusual reveals, Bad Magpie stars a mischievous one-winged bird determined to cause chaos wherever she goes.
The debut trailer balanced humour and mystery, hinting at a deeper narrative beneath its colourful presentation. The indie adventure is currently targeting a 2027 release.
Join US – 2027
Join Us is a darkly comedic cult-management simulator where players recruit followers, build a compound, and prepare for the apocalypse.
Playable solo or with up to four players, the game blends survival mechanics, base-building, and absurd humour. It launches day one on Game Pass in March 2027.
Magicians: The Devil’s Deal – 2027
Set in a twisted version of Victorian London, Magicians: The Devil’s Deal combines first-person action with supernatural powers and narrative-driven exploration.
Players take on the role of a disgraced magician who gains powerful abilities through a pact with the Devil. The reveal trailer showcased fast-paced combat and a striking gothic aesthetic.
Vivarium – TBD
Vivarium is an anime-inspired life simulation adventure that immediately stood out thanks to its hand-drawn visual style.
Players will explore a miniature world filled with quirky residents, build relationships, and uncover hidden mysteries through a branching narrative. It looks like one of the showcase’s most charming and relaxing experiences.
