American Express Canada and ALL Accor have teamed up on a new partnership that lets Canadian cardholders turn their credit card rewards into hotel stays and pick up elite hotel status.
Once it goes live, eligible Canadian cardholders will be able to move their Membership Rewards points straight over to the ALL Accor loyalty program. The rate is 1,000 Membership Rewards points for 500 ALL Accor points. Those points work across more than 45 hotel brands worldwide, including higher-end names like Fairmont, Raffles, and Sofitel.
Platinum cardholders are getting a perks bump too. Consumer, Business, and Corporate Platinum cardholders qualify for a status match to ALL Accor Gold. That tier comes with complimentary Wi-Fi, welcome amenities, late check-out, room upgrades when they’re available, and bonus points on stays.
“Canadians are looking for more value and flexibility from their travel experiences,” said Rey Saeidi, Vice President, Proprietary & Co-Brand Products & Rewards, American Express Canada. “By bringing together American Express Membership Rewards and ALL Accor, we’re giving Cardmembers more ways to turn everyday spending into meaningful travel benefits, while unlocking new opportunities to earn, redeem and be rewarded wherever their travels take them.”
Accor’s side pointed to how well the two customer bases line up. “Bringing the ALL Accor promise to life in new ways, we’re connecting our global hospitality ecosystem with American Express Cardmembers around the world,” said Mehdi Hemici, Chief Loyalty & E-Commerce Officer at Accor. “American Express’ premium Membership base is perfectly suited for our luxury portfolio. By combining our expansive brands and experiences with the strength of their global reach, we’re creating more seamless, personalized stays and unlocking richer ways for guests to engage with ALL Accor at every stage of their journey.”
Both companies say the features land later this year, but there’s no firm date yet for the points transfer portal or status match enrollment. My guess is we’ll get the full enrolment details right in the Amex app closer to launch.
