Looks like Grand Theft Auto VI already owns the search bar after the info was shared with iPhone in Canada from Google Canada in an email on Tuesday, with Google Trends putting GTA VI at the top of trending video game searches ahead of National Video Games Day on September 12.

Wardogs, Star Wars: Zero Company and Stage Tour follow in that same cut, with Fable, Marvel’s Wolverine, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 and Pokémon also among the leading titles and franchises, which fits the same hunger we saw when an earlier GTA VI leak lit up the rumour mill.

Shoppers are hunting value as hard as hype in the same dataset, where top “best” searches include best budget gaming chairs, best cheap gaming laptops, best indie games, best Switch 2 games and best PS5 games, the same gear-curious lane as our recent look at ROG gaming laptops. “Games like” queries lean into favourites such as Tomodachi Life, Animal Crossing, Resident Evil, The Sims and Roblox, while how-to traffic stays practical: lower ping, pick a gaming monitor, and how to get a Steam refund.
