Zwift+ Costs Canadians $37.99 a Month, a Steep Climb to a Virtual Volcano

Zwift announced today that Zwift+, a new top membership tier for its indoor cycling app on iPhone and iPad, costs $37.99 a month or $379.99 a year in Canada.
That works out to about 52 per cent more than the regular Zwift membership, which stays at $24.99 a month or $249.99 a year in Canada. Paying monthly for Zwift+ adds up to $455.88 over a year, which is a lot to pay to virtually ride to the volcano.
Plus keeps everything in the regular membership and adds two extras. Zwift Coach builds a personalized training plan that adapts when you miss a session or ride something else, and members set it up in the Zwift Companion app. Zwift Video unlocks 21 filmed real-world routes across six countries at launch, covering 385 kilometres of roads such as the Col du Galibier and Sa Calobra.
In the United States, Zwift+ is listed at $29.99 USD a month or $299.99 USD a year, compared with $19.99 USD a month for the regular plan.
New monthly sign-ups get a 14-day free trial that includes Zwift+ features, and existing members can claim a limited-time one-month free upgrade. Coach feedback also shows up in the Companion app on iPhone, while the ride itself can run on Apple TV.
Zwift is mostly worth it when the weather outside is terrible or you want to get a virtual ride done quickly. With plenty of other cycling workouts free on YouTube and elsewhere, it’s hard to justify around $40 a month after tax for Zwift+.
Would you pay $37.99 a month for Zwift Coach and video routes, or stick with the $24.99 plan or Apple Fitness+?
