Zelda Fans Storm Toronto Flagship Store for Ocarina of Time Midnight Launch

Excitement reached a fever pitch in downtown Toronto this week as hundreds of diehard Legend of Zelda gamers and franchise fans swarmed the Nintendo space at the EB Games flagship store.

The massive turnout was all to celebrate the monumental midnight release of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, available exclusively on the Nintendo Switch 2 system, proving that classic adventures still hold an unbreakable grip on the gaming community.

Gamers of all ages began lining up hours before midnight, braving the elements to secure their copies of the highly anticipated launch. The energy outside the retail location was electric, filled with passionate discussions about favorite dungeons, classic soundtracks, and decades of gaming memories.

Susan Pennefather, Vice President and General Manager of Nintendo of Canada, was on-site to join the festivities. Pennefather shared the excitement directly with the crowd, taking time to celebrate alongside the very first fan in line who had waited patiently for hours to be part of the historic midnight moment.

As the clock struck twelve, cheers erupted inside the store as fans finally got their hands on the updated title, marking a major milestone for Nintendo’s hardware rollout.

Midnight retail launches have always held a special place in gaming culture, bringing communities together in physical spaces rather than just behind a screen.
