We have some breaking news from the iPhone Dev Team! They have released Ultrasn0w 0.93, which will unlock all iPhones since the 3.0 firmware. What does this mean for you? It means your iPhone can now be unlocked to use with ANY wireless carrier from around the world.
Ultrasn0w 0.93 will unlock the following basebands as announced on twitter by the iPhone Dev Team:
04.26.08
05.11.07
05.12.01
05.13.04 (newest baseband)
How to Unlock your iPhone with Ultrasn0w 0.93 (if you’re on iOS 4.0, you’ll need to wait for the jailbreak to be released first)
1. Jailbreak your iPhone. If you’re already jailbroken, you’re good to go.
2. Launch Cydia. Search for “ultrasn0w” in Cydia and install it. Done!
iOS 4.0 Jailbreak Tools Will Come Very Soon
The Dev Team reported on their blog that updated jailbreak tools will be released shortly for iOS 4.0. Do NOT be tempted to use unofficial PwnageTool/redsn0w bundles or releases as that can cause harm to your iPhone. Patience everyone, updated tools will be released soon.

I Have an iPhone 3G unlocked and jailbroken on 3.0 .I want to update to 3.1.3 does it mean that i no longer need to create a custom firmware to be able to update without losing my unlock?
I have a 3G that was locked to Rogers. I downloaded the new iTunes + iOS4 then jail broke it using redsn0w. I installed Ultrasn0w on the phone, then the device reboot. Once the device came back on I installed my Telus SIM however I get “NO SERVICE”. In the settings tab, when I go to carriers I can find TELUS and Rogers Wireless but when I select TELUS it gives me the message “Network no longer available”
– Does anyone have an idea of what it may be? Could it be the SIM itself?

It was infact an account related error with Telus itself. I used a friend's Telus SIM and that worked fine so the Unlock works great! Thanks to all involved for making the world a better place!!
Upgraded to OS 4.0 and jailbroke with redsn0w. Did the unlock with ultrasn0w and carrier and signal will come up (Fido) but will quickly lose signal to “no signal”. I've tried many methods with airplane mode and rejailbreaks but nothing seems to work. If I am lucky I can get one call in before it will eventually drop service. It is an iPhone 3G by the way. I don't know what else to do. Any help?

I am having similar problems to others. I have jailbroken OS4, installed ultrasn0w through cydia, but its coming up as 'No Service'. In my settings>general>about section my carrier comes up as TELUS 7.1 (Telus is my carrier). So I know it must be unlocked, but I do not know why I'm not getting service. If anyone can help that would be great.
It's an iphone 3G and baseband is 05.13.04

Hi did you find the probem? I unlocked my phone today and it’s doing the same exact thing as you. It was locked to rogers and i bought a Telus sim card and it says no service!
