All you have to do, is say something like “Use PayPal to send $125 to Jenny for groceries,” or “Request $20 from Dad with PayPal” to test it out and Siri will do the rest.

Meron Colbeci, Senior Director, Core Consumer Products, PayPal, told iPhone in Canada in a statement this is the ‘first’ time iPhone users can use Siri to send or request money for its 6.4 million active users in Canada (in English and French).

The feature to send or request money using Siri on iPhone is available in: Australia, Austria, Belgium (French and Dutch), Brazil, Canada (English and French), China, Denmark, Finland (Finnish), France, Germany, Hong Kong (Cantonese), India, Israel (Hebrew), Italy, Japan, Malaysia (Malay), Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Russia, Saudi Arabia (Arabic), Singapore (English), Spain, Sweden, Switzerland (French, German, and Italian), Thailand, United Kingdom, United Arab Emirates (Arabic) and United States.

According to PayPal research from 2015, Canadians are owed on average $462 in IOUs, with over 50 per cent finding it “awkward” to ask friends or family to pay them back.
