Samsung Adds the iPad mini to Accused List of Infringing Products
…and the Apple versus Samsung patent battle continues.
The accusations continue to fly, as Samsung has now added the iPad mini to its list of Apple devices accused of patent infringements. The list already includes the iPhone 5, along with the most recent iterations of the iPod touch and iPad.
After winning a $1.049 billion jury verdict earlier this year, Apple is now involved in this second lawsuit with Samsung, which will likely go to trial sometime in 2013.
The move by Samsung appears to be a “I know you are, but what am I?” move, after Apple had earlier accused the Samsung Galaxy Note, Galaxy S III, and other various Samsung products to be infringing on their patents.
In a classic playground-style finger-pointing affair, the trial should be an interesting one.
The latest technology devices won’t formally be included in the lawsuit until the request is approved by U.S. magistrate Judge Paul S. Grewal, but all there’s no reason to believe they’d be denied. Earlier this evening Judge Grewal approved Samsung’s request to full unredacted access to the Apple-HTC settlement agreement.
So who copied who? The answer is up to the courts. 2013 will be sure to see both sides stating the proverbial “Llllllet’s get ready to ruummmbbbblllleeeee!!!!”

These patent disputes have become redundant and uninteresting to read.
