iPhone Firmware 4.0 Beta 3 Now Available To Developers
This morning, Apple pushed out the iPhone SDK 4.0 Beta 3 and the iPhone 4.0 Firmware Beta 3 (8A260B). This comes exactly two weeks since the last release of iPhone 4.0 Beta 2 on April 20, 2010.
Apple typically follows a 2-week release schedule for beta releases of iPhone firmware.
The firmware 4.0 update is to deliver a slew of new enhancements, some of which are detailed below:
- Multitasking
- Custom homescreen backgrounds
- Camera 5x Digital Zoom
- Application Folders
- Places and Faces in the Photo App
- Bluetooth Keyboard Support
Also remember, if you have your iPhone/iPod Touch jailbroken or unlocked, you should not update to 4.0 when it is released, as you will lose both your jailbreak and unlock.
Update 5PM PST: It seems that Apple has pulled all files pertaining to the Beta 3 of iPhone firmware. Stay tuned for updates.
Update 8PM PST: Looks like all of the files are back up again.
