Apple Launches Official Apple Store App for iPad (US-Only)

After being available for the iPhone for quite some time, Apple has launched the iPad version of the dedicated Apple Store app, reports TechCrunch. The bad news for Canadians is the app is currently US-only, at least for now.

The application offers an excellent user experience, taking advantage of every aspect of the gorgeous Retina display with high-resolution images and context-aware panels.

The interactions are gesture-based and drive the user through listings on category pages, and pinch gestures allow users to zoom in and out to read the information about a desired product, or double the amount of items on the screen.

The iPad Apple Store app also has an exclusive “Now Trending” section, in which users will find popular store products for a particular time period.

While users can make Genius-bar reservations and review the reservations that are made, the iPhone app and the iPad apps are completely different. The iPad version is designed for “home shopping”, as it lacks the EasyPay solutions and other location-based features.

As mentioned before, the Apple Store app for iPad is US-only for now, but we hope the app will be available for Canadian users as well shortly.
