Apple is the most valuable billion-dollar brand in the US, according to a new report issued by Brand Finance. The iPhone maker tops a list of 500 companies including Google, Coca-Cola, Microsoft, and McDonalds.
As the report highlights, Apple’s brand is worth $104.6 billion. Google follows Apple at $68.6 billion, the Silicon Valley Business Journal reports.
The publication also notes that Brand Finance compiled the list by estimating the royalty rate that would be charged for use of the brand and factoring in future revenue.
It is worth mentioning that tech companies fill the half of the top ten spots, with Microsoft, GE, and Amazon among them. In fact, the tech sector dominates the most valuable sector on the list, making up 23% of the total.
Other Silicon Valley billion-dollar brands that made the top 100 list are: Intel, Cisco, Oracle, Hewlett-Packard, eBay, Facebook, PayPal, and Yahoo.
