Apple Renews Apple TV+ Original ‘Invasion’ for Second Season

As the first season of Apple TV+’s sci-fi original ‘Invasion’ wraps, Apple has confirmed with Screen Rant that the series will continue with a second season. ‘Invasion’ will continue on, showcasing the different perspectives of humans through an alien invasion.

As reported, Invasion will continue with Simon Kinberg and David Weil continuing to lead the ship. Kinberg had played an intregal part in the ‘X-Men’ series, producing many of the films until finally directing 2019’s X-Men: Dark Phoenix. Weil is best known for his work writing and producing ‘Solos’ and Hunters’. In a statement, the two expressed their appreciation to continue work on Invasion and hope to expand the world in “the most intimate and epic ways.”

Invasion first premiered on Apple TV+ on October 22, 2021, where the first three episodes were debuted. The series continued on a weekly basis before dropping the last episode of the season today, December 10 on the platform. Invasion stars Golshifteh Farahani, Shamier Anderson, Shioli Kutsuna, Firas Nassar, Aziz Capkurt, Billy Barratt and Sam Neill.

Invasion is just another of the many Apple TV+ originals that have been picked up for additional seasons. Alongside ‘Ted Lasso,’ Mythic Quest,’ For All Mankind,’ and ‘Foundation,’ Invasion will continue to build out Apple’s catalogue on its streaming service, keeping it competitive with Netflix and Amazon Prime.
