iOS 16 Beta 3 Sees the Return of the Clownfish Wallpaper From Original iPhone

The new iOS 16 beta 3 is now available for developers. As developers and eager iPhone users begin to try out the software, it has been discovered that Apple has brought back the clownfish wallpaper design from the original iPhone.

In what appears as a nice tip of the hat to the 15-year lineage of the iPhone, some iOS 16 beta 3 users have been able to find the classic wallpaper as an option. However, it does appear as though the wallpaper is only appearing for some users. As reported by 9to5Mac, some users have taken to Twitter to showcase the wallpaper. Other beta 3 users, however, must apparently wait to gain access to it.

As it’s been noted, wallpapers moving forward with iOS 16 are no longer merely static images for the phone. Instead, they are dynamic and offer real-time animations, that may interact with the clock on the lock screen. Therefore, 9to5Mac found a way to render the wallpaper and has shared the image.

Once again, iOS 16 is currently reserved for beta access mainly for developers. There is a public beta period scheduled to begin this month. However, the full release of iOS 16 and all its features will have to wait until the fall. It’s here that Apple is expected to launch the new software alongside the iPhone 14.
