The second season of the critically acclaimed Apple original series ‘The Morning Show’ has premiered and is now available to stream on Apple TV+.
Following the announcement that a return to the streaming platform was just around the corner for The Morning Show, Apple revealed its September 17 premiere date during its California Streaming event. Now the first episode of the 10-episode season has been released, with each remaining episode releasing weekly.
The Morning Show stars Jennifer Aniston and Resse Witherspoon in a show highlighting the cutthroat world of broadcast morning news. The second season will see the return of regular cast members Steve Carell, Billy Crup, Marcia Gay Harden, and more. The season two premiere picks up following the season one finale where The Morning Show team must deal with the ramifications of the actions of Alex (Aniston) and Bradley (Witherspoon). This season will also see new faces such as Julianna Margulies, Holland Taylor, Greta Lee, and Hasan Minhaj.
The Morning Show is developed by Kerry Ehrin, who returns as showrunner and executive producer. Michael Ellenberg is also executive producer through Media Res, along with Aniston and Kristin Hahn through Echo Films; Witherspoon and Lauren Neustadter through Hello Sunshine; and Mimi Leder, who also directs several episodes.
Last year, The Morning Show received notable acclaim and awards. Billy Crudup won an Emmy for ‘Supporting Actor in a Drama Series’ in addition to a Critics Choice Award. Jennifer Aniston was awarded a SAG Award for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Drama Series. The Morning Show also received nominations from Television Critics Association for Outstanding New Program and a TV Choice Award for Best New Drama.
Apple TV+ is available in Canada for $4.99/month.
