On the weekend, Bell announced it was waiving its data overages fees for internet users, but now it’s also stepping up like its rivals in offering no charges for wireless roaming.
A Bell spokesperson explained to iPhone in Canada, “for our wireless customers travelling abroad, Roam Better and pay per use roaming charges will be waived from today until April 30. Fees will be waived automatically.”
Mirko Bibic, President and CEO of BCE Inc. and Bell Canada, said in a statement, “Bell is making the significant investments required to manage growing service volumes, while also waiving fees on key services and providing billing relief for customers facing difficulty as we all deal with this unprecedented situation.”
For Bell TV subscribers, CTV News, CP24 and other Canadian news channels are available as free previews, which also apply to customers of Fibe TV, Alt TV and Bell Satellite. CTV News and CP24 are also free on the web and through mobile apps.
Bell says it is also offering “free previews of a wide range of family, educational, lifestyle and entertainment channels throughout March and April.”
Earlier today, Bell was part of the federal government’s announcement to keep Canadians overseas informed about COVID-19 through text messages.
