Bell to Waive Internet Data Overage Fees During Coronavirus Pandemic

Like Rogers and Telus, Bell has announced it will be waiving home internet data overage fees, starting today and until April 30, 2020.

In a statement to iPhone in Canada, a Bell spokesperson said, “To help customers during COVID-19 situation we will be waiving any additional usage fees for Bell residential Internet customers starting today to the end of April.”

Bell says the waiving of home internet data overage fees applies to Bell Canada, Bell Aliant, Bell MTS and Virgin Home Internet customers not already on unlimited home internet plans.

According to Bell, they will be notifying customers of this change, which will see overage fees waived automatically for accounts.

Videotron and TekSavvy also have waived data overage fees for home internet during the health situation with coronavirus, as Canadians start working from home, for those capable of doing so. Telus and Koodo are taking an extra step and waiving wireless data overages for its customers stuck in Level 3 areas due to coronavirus, such as China or Italy.

Yesterday, Shaw announced its Go WiFi network is now going to free for the public to use in Western Canada.
