Virgin Mobile Promo: Home Phone for $5 Per Month for 12 Months

Virgin home phone

Virgin Mobile is offering a promotion on its home phone service, available or $5 per month for 12 months, as part of a “limited time offer”, for customers in Alberta and Quebec.

The home phone plan for month-to-month is being priced at $5 per month for your first 12 months, but requires purchasing the home phone hub for $39.99 (works with 2 phones). The regular price is $20 per month.

Virgin Mobile home phone includes:

  • Unlimited Canada-wide talk
  • Conference calling
  • Voicemail 10
  • Call display; call waiting; call forwarding
  • One-time $35 connection charge

The home phone works by popping in a Virgin Mobile SIM card into the modem (then attaching your old school phone), so calls are made over the Bell cellular network. The setup is portable so it can be taken anywhere, as long as you have electricity to plug in the modem (which has a backup battery for 25 hours of operation).

While most people have cellphones and no longer need landlines, if you require a home phone, paying $5 per month is cheaper than most offerings, despite the charge for the modem and connection fee.
