Prepaid brands of Canada’s ‘Big 3’ wireless carriers have launched a promotional $40 unlimited Canada-wide calling plan with 4.5GB of 3G data.
Rogers’ Chatr, along with Bell’s Lucky Mobile and Telus’ Public Mobile are all simultaneously offering customers a $40/4.5GB monthly plan, which includes unlimited Canada-wide calling and international text.
With credit card autopay setup, you can save an additional $2 off these plans per month.
It appears Rogers and Bell offered these promos first, then Telus matched its rivals yesterday, in what it explained “as a competitive response” on its Public Mobile website. What are the odds we’re seeing all three prepaid companies offer this at the same time?
Public Mobile is offering a ‘flash sale’ this weekend, offering a free SIM card and 30 days of service for in-store activations. The network is throttled LTE down to 3G speeds, which many customers dub “LTE lite”, as speeds are still decent.
If you’re looking to sign up for Public Mobile, you can get $10 if you are referred by a friend. Send an email to tips @ iphoneincanada.ca if you require a referral.
