Rogers, Fido, Bell Lower Prices For iPhone 3G/3GS On Contract
On the heels of the Telus iPhone price drops, starting today, Rogers/Fido and Bell have made a series of price drops for their lines of iPhone 3G/3GS devices. The changes are as follows:
Rogers/Fido
- iPhone 3G 8GB Black: $49.99 (was $99; $50 price drop)
- iPhone 3GS 16GB Black/White: $99 (was $199; $100 price drop)
- iPhone 3GS 32GB Black/White: $149 (was $299; $150 price drop)
Bell
- iPhone 3G 8GB Black: $49.95 (was $95; $50 price drop)
- iPhone 3GS 16GB Black/White: $99.95 (was $199.95; $100 price drop)
- iPhone 3GS 32GB Black/White: $149.95 (was $299.95; $150 price drop)
Once again, the iPhone 3GS models have received the largest price drops, especially the 32GB at $150 off. Also remember that iOS4 will run perfectly on the iPhone 3GS, so if you’re looking for Rogers/Fido/Bell service and want a good price on an iPhone, this may be it.
As always, these prices are with a new 3-year agreement from Rogers/Fido/Bell activated in-store at a Rogers Wireless, Rogers Plus, Fido, or Bell location. There is also no minimum monthly fee required but a voice/data plan combination is required. New activations with Rogers also receive the six months unlimited local calling and 6PM early evenings add-on.

Good sign that competition is working in consumer favour here…
A better sign would be if Rogers/Fido/Bell had reduced prices below Telus instead of price-matching…..
iOS4 does not run “perfectly” on 3gs as you say.. there are features (such as iMovie) that will only work on the iPhone 4
iMovie is not a feature of iOS4. iOS4 will run perfect on an iPhone 3GS.
Tempted to jump from a 3G to a 3GS… I don't really need to get the latest and greatest, and a 3GS speed boost is what I may need 🙂
Anyone considering one of these “deals” should consider the fact that signing a 3-year contract is making a $2000 purchasing decision. That is the minimum you are likely to be locked into spending over the 3 years. So, that savings of $100 to get outdated technology doesn't sound like such a great deal, does it?
Finally – a positive from Rogers!: I purchased a 16G 3GS for my hubby almost a month ago, paid $199 (yes unfort 3 yr contract but I have 2 years to go anyways and he got grandfathered into my pretty good family pkg). Saw on this blog this morning that Rogers had reduced the pricing. I called them right away – spoke to 2 different people (sales and billing), neither had heard anything, I had to wait on hold until they could confirm – but worth it because I got a $100 credit since it was less than 30 days since purchase. They actually honored to “30 day rule” Woot Woot!!

well, Brand new 16gb/32gb iphone 3gs for sale! Rogers fido bell telus! Cheap!
hello, Therefore unltd. transfer is a lot likelier at lower prices. … My daughter in the UK has just upgraded from Iphone 3g
I dunno if this is a glitch but prices w/3 year plan are back to what they were before June at Bell.ca!!
iPhone 3GS 16GB is $199.95 & 32GB is $299.95
I got my Samsung Captivate for $149.99 and the current price is $99.99 but they refused to do a price match for me.
They said they will only do price match for 15 days and not 30 days.
I asked them for their price-match policy and they said there is no price match policy at all at Rogers. The reason they do the price-match for 15 days is because they don’t want customers to return their phone due to a pricing dispute.
You are lucky that you got your money back after 15 days.
If you saw a price match policy anywhere on their website, please let me know as I couldn’t find one.
I missed my 15 days price match limit by 3 days 🙁
They also refused to give me a Hardware upgrade rebate coupon saying that at the time they sold the phone to me it was already discounted by $50 which is a lie as I don’t think the Samsung Captivate was ever sold at $200.
I ordered by phone on Nov 16th, 2010.
When you sign up the deals are amazing. Fantastic prices. Don`t let anything happen to your Iphone. I am with Fido and my phone had water damage 2 month into the contract. My $159 phone would have cost me $750 to replace it. I could not afford it. 2 years later I am still paying for a data plan they would not let me out of and i was still willing to keep the phone line and use a regular cell phone. Companies should come out with a damage protection insurance as an add on to your monthly bill. Now I am looking at unlocked phones so no more contracts no being pinned down. Apparently Rodgers has some sort of phone insurance plan but I am not sure.
