Wireless Wars: Telus and Bell Bring Back $75/20GB Unlimited Data Plans [u]

Last week, Telus introduced a promo on its 20GB Peace of Mind unlimited data plan, discounting it by $20 off, down to $75 per month for bring your own device (BYOD) customers.

One day later, Bell was quick to match Telus with its own $75/20GB unlimited data promo plan.

Both carriers ended the promos on January 21, 2020, but now it looks like they’ve jumped back into the game.

Telus and Bell are both offering $75/20GB unlimited data plans today, with the promo plans expiring on January 27, 2020. These unlimited data plans will see data throttled to 512 kbps once initial data buckets are used.

With Telus, data is not shareable. However, Bell is offering its $75/20GB plan with a shareable option.

With Bell, the deal isn’t listed online yet, but if you call or visit a store you’ll be able to get the plan, if you’re a new customer or existing customer getting a phone upgrade, says RFD.

When Telus and Bell offered this promo plan the first time, Rogers did not follow suit and match the discounts. A Rogers spokesperson told us there was “nothing to share on this” when we asked if they planned on matching its rivals. With the $75/20GB BYOD plan back for a second time, there’s a better chance Rogers may match this time around.

Let us know if you will be contacting Telus or Bell to jump on these promo plans, have popped up just ahead of the Lunar New Year, which starts tomorrow. Malls will be busy and these promos will definitely hope to lure in shoppers.
