Telus Named ‘Fastest Mobile Network’ in Canada for Q3-Q4 2018: Ookla

Ookla has published the results of their Q3-Q4 2018 report for mobile networks, and has crowned Telus the ‘Fastest Mobile Network’.

According to Ookla, they write:

TELUS is Canada’s Speedtest Awards Winner for mobile network speed during Q3-Q4 2018. To win this award, TELUS achieved a Speed Score of 63.59, with average download speeds of 72.17 Mbps and average upload speeds of 12.33 Mbps.

Here’s how Telus compared to its wireless competitors when it came to Ookla’s Speed Score (not actual download speeds):

  • Telus: 63.59
  • Bell: 61.91
  • Fido: 52.54
  • Rogers: 47.74
  • Videotron: 38.17




A Telus spokesperson told iPhone in Canada in a statement, “Today’s report reaffirms TELUS’ commitment to delivering Canada’s best network for all Canadians, having been recognized by four prominent independent industry sources for two consecutive years, 2017 and 2018.”

When it came to top city network speeds, Telus also beat out its rivals in Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver, with the highest average download speeds and Ookla Speed Score.
