Telus to Invest Additional $700M in Quebec to Expand Wireless and More

Telus today has announced it will spend a total of $1.3 billion in Quebec through 2016, with $640 million of that coming in 2014, the remaining investment from a three year plan dating back to 2012.

Quebecers will see an additional $700 million investment for 2015 and 2016 to further expand 4G LTE wireless networks and the 700MHz spectrum expansion (a total of 30 licenses were acquired for $1.14 billion), fibre optic networks, Optik TV, expanding healthcare solutions and more.

Telus detailed how $55 million will be spent alone in Montreal this year, to expand LTE networks and deploy their 700MHz spectrum, along with dedicating funds towards healthcare solutions.

Over 80 per cent of the Quebec population will have LTE by the end of this year, says Telus.

Just yesterday Telus announced it would spend an additional $1.6 billion in BC to also expand wireless and other company services.
