WIND Mobile has announced it continues to update its network through its ongoing improvement program.

According to an email statement sent to iPhoneinCanada.ca, WIND Mobile now has 1,408 sites on air across the country, which is now 100% HSPA+ enabled, meaning customers will receive speeds up to 21Mbps.

As for the future of the network, WIND Mobile is currently installing Dual Carrier HSPA+ upgrades, which have 360 antennas already completed, allowing up to 42Mbps.

Also, a new service area is launching in Brantford in July, part of the company’s plan to expand its network footprint, with more details coming soon.

During the company’s Q1 2014, WIND Mobile announced its subscribers had topped 702,000, however its future remains unknown as parent company Vimpelcom is still deciding what to do with its Canadian investment.
