Apple has shared a new video detailing how to transfer data to a new iPhone, as the company’s iPhone 13 lineup launches today. The video focuses on how to transfer data to your new iPhone using iCloud.

“Starting in iOS 15, you can use iCloud to transfer your apps and data from your previous iPhone to a brand-new device, even if you don’t have enough storage space. You’ll be given as much temporary iCloud storage as you need to back up your apps and data for 21 days,” says Apple.

“Then, when you’re ready to set up your new iPhone, just use that backup to transfer all the data from your previous device. If you haven’t set up your new iPhone within 21 days of starting your iCloud backup you can choose to keep your backup for an extra 21 days in Settings,” adds the company.

Instead of using iCloud to transfer data to your iPhone 13, try a device-to-device transfer instead call Quick Start. This method takes longer, but moves all your existing logins to your new iPhone, which an iCloud backup doesn’t. Many early iPhone 13 reviewers are applauding this method as it has greatly improved compared to previous years.

All you have to do is place your old iPhone next to your iPhone 13 and follow the instructions that pop up. You’ll need your current device’s passcode. This method takes longer so just try it and let it happen on its own.
