The line up was a lot of fun last year, my first time. That being said, it wasn’t easy waiting in line overnight without sleeping!

i preordered from Rogers and Cancelled that shit since they didn’t give a definite receive date for the phone even though I was 59th in line l O L
anyways the reason i cancelled it is cuz i simply walked into my local bestbuy store, told then i wanted to preorder, they told me to be there before 10AM fri, and that was it, no B-S no Hassle, (ps. this was done on thurs the 13th at 7:00pm) FUCK ROGERS.
Yup. I’m getting mine tomorrow as well. No line up. People in the above pics must either not have a life and love waiting in line ups, or just plain dumb.

I mow that west Edmonton mall is open to the public 24/7, but ou also aren’t allowed to stop anywhere for more than 5 min. I assume the line up would be a special circumstance though.
I’m HAPPY to say this will be the first year not lining up for the new iPhone, with the EUP from Robbers the next lining up I’ll be doing to to sign up with a different provider.

I’ve lined up for the iPhone 4 and the iPad 2 and both times it was the morning they were released? I remember getting there at like 4/5 am. And LAUGHING at the morons that were there the night before because I got my stuff maybe 1 hour after they got theirs.
Although I am still on iPhone 3….I have never lined up for ANY product and dnt think I ever would…..I can think of MANY other things I can do during that time (sleep) and get the phone a few hours or maybe days later……..Also I don’t think Roger/Bell/Telus stores are gonna have huge line ups that is where I got my iphone 3 and think will be trying for 4s tomorrow…since the online reservation system was a HUGE fail for rogers.

Not lining up this year. Last year was fun, but don’t need to experience that again. I’ll just wait for me email from Rogers, telling me it’s ready to be picked up. 🙂

I’m with you. Now that I’ve got the iOS 5 on my phone, waiting a few extra days for Siri,, bigger camera and better memory is no biggie. I’ve had the phone a whole year without those three things… a few more days isn’t going really to matter!
Lmao. Lining up at Oakridge seems like it sucks. Last year they had to line up at the security doors so they were all stuck outside. At least it was summer though.

Looks like a lot of stores have approx 200- 300 people. How long would it take Apple to process that many people?
If you’re buying unlocked, very quickly. If through a carrier, not so much.
Okay I did some number crunching that people may find useful.
I figured out that it`s better for me to purchase an unlocked iPhone 4S instead of getting a hardware upgrade.
This will only apply to people who got an iPhone 4 back in July 2010 with signing a new 3 year contract under Rogers and are looking to purchase a 32gig iPhone 4s tomorrow ($260 promotional pricing) as well as getting the lowest memory phone next year (it will MOST PROBABLY be a 32gig iPhone 5 @ $160 – no need for me to purchase the 2nd level iPhone 5 next year as the 1st level 32gig would be fine).
If the next iPhone comes out in July 2012: Option #1 – Pay the $320 early upgrade fee 2moro for i4s @ 260 and get the next 2012 i5 on an upgrade also: $655 for the i4s [260+320@1.13] + 40admin (35@1.13) + $655 iPhone 5[420+160@1.13] + 40admin = ***$1390***Option #2 – Get a brand new unlocked phone from Apple 2moro for the $750 price n the i5 on upgrade:$848 for the i4s [750@1.13] + 316 iPhone 5[120+160 @ 1.13] + 40admin = ***$1204***
So you are essentially saving $200 by purchasing the unlocked instead of getting the stupid early hardware upgrade.
Where is the end of the Pacific Centre line up? Is it longer than the iPad 2 lineup?
Just got by from Newmarket Upper Canada Mall and they sold out right in front of me. – the line is cut. 🙁 How frustrating since I was in line since 4:30am this morning. The problem is there are tons and tons of people infront that buy the phones for resale. Seriously, I see people all coming out with 2 phones per bag and I see a lady literally pay them some cash and take the phone off their hands. There are lots of this happening. I was really upset when I saw this. Apple must know this, all they have to do is look not too far from the store and see this happening – those bad business folks are not even hiding the fact cause I see them in plain sight as I’m lining up!!
Seriously, Apple should really restrict 1 phone per customer sale cause it’s ridiculous!
I guess I would have to go at 3am next time to guarantee anything. 🙁

We just made almost $2000! Now I gotta get one for myself, though I’m gonna get a used 4.

I went on my lunch to Pacific Center. Got there at 12:40 and left with an iPhone 4S at 1:02. Amazing. It was SO much smoother than last years 4 launch.
