Apple Releases iOS 5.0.1 Beta 2, Download Now!

Only two days back, the first beta of iOS 5.0.1 was seeded to the developer community and now Apple has released iOS 5.0.1 beta 2. The previous beta was intended to bring some improvements and fixes to iOS 5.0 which included bugs affecting battery life, while the second beta once again hopes to resolve the rapid battery drain issue. iOS 5.0.1 beta 2 firmware can be downloaded either via the Apple developer’s portal or as an over the air update.

According to MacRumors:

The new version, known as build 9A404, comes as Apple is working quickly to deploy the update to address battery life issues and bring several other enhancements to devices running iOS 5. The latest build is available as an over-the-air update for those with the first beta of iOS 5.0.1 installed on their devices.

The new update is available for the following devices:

  • iPhone 4S
  • iPhone 4 (GSM + CDMA)
  • iPhone 3GS
  • iPad
  • iPad 2
  • iPod Touch 3G
  • iPod Touch 4G

I hope they also address/solve iPad 1 usability issues.

What’s the difference between GSM and CDMA for the iPhone 4?

Different networks carriers use. Google them to see what your carrier is.
