Last night Flipboard dropped an updated version of their iPad-only app to bring iPhone and iPod touch support. The new Flipboard for iPhone had been a long time in the making.
Interestingly enough, Apple’s Senior Vice President of Worldwide Product Marketing, Phil Schiller sent out a tweet shortly afterwards showing some appreciation for the new Flipboard addition. With over 50,000 followers, Phil’s tweets are sporadic but this time he seemed inclined to express his thoughts:

Flipboard’s service has been overwhelmed by the sudden demand, and currently does not load for users. Give them some time and it’ll be back up soon.
