Robert Scoble: ‘Apple is Building Twitter in Deeply into iOS 5’

Until we hear it from the horse’s mouth, the details of iOS 5 have remained pretty quiet so far. Earlier rumours via TechCrunch stated twitter integration within iOS 5, and John Gruber declared it could possibly be natively integrated. Today, Robert Scoble claims his iOS 5 connections have told him twitter will be deeply integrated into iOS 5. He detailed this via some recent tweets:

Next week will be a huge week for those of us who have lived on Twitter for last few years. Apple is building Twitter in deeply into iOS5.

I know someone who built the Twitter integration into iOS5 and I believe him when he says I’ll love it.

Scoble is a connected person in the industry and if he claims iOS 5 has ‘deep’ twitter integration, I’m going to side with him and Gruber’s initial analysis of twitter as a native feature. Twitter is still in its ‘infancy’, and with Apple’s help it could become a symbiotic relationship to both companies. With Apple’s cash, they could very well purchase Twitter–but I don’t think they ever will.
