We know that Apple has sold roughly 4 million iPhones now, and are on target to reach their goal of 10 million sold in 2008.
Who knows if this will happen or not. One thing is for sure, the “unlocked” iPhone market is thriving, particularly in Canada and other countries where the iPhone has not been released.
I’ve been wondering just how many unlocked iPhones there are in Canada and also where they are located. I received an email asking to run a poll about where you are using your iPhone in Canada. So I figured I’d take the time to do that now. So the big question is…
…where are you using your unlocked iPhone in Canada? What province? Let me know your specific city in the comments (as I know you guys are located all over the place!).
So hopefully most of you will vote on this poll…I’ll run it for a week or so and we will find out the results! 🙂
*EDIT*: My apologies to the fine people of Nova Scotia…I purposely excluded you guys from the poll because I wanted someone to send me a crate of fresh lobsters before adding you guys in…it was my way of leverage but I guess it didn’t work out. Sorry! =) Forget the ‘buy me a beer’ option…I’m going to change it to ‘buy me a lobster!’

I purchased on Saturday evening 16G sealed box $650.CAD I had it unlocked in 5 Min and it works great so far. I use a Rogers simm and worked fine. 1.1.4 Version beware of Volume booster from iClarified….it killed all the sound …so did a complete restore…no worries though.

I sincerely believe that I’m one of the only ones, or @ least one of the very few, who had an IPhone up here in Northern Ontario (specifically Thunder Bay).
There isn’t anywhere to buy IPhones here in Thunder Bay, I actually won my IPhone off of the net, thru this gr8 company where you can write reviews online.
I am soooo thankful for winning it cuz I think my IPhone is the niftiest little piece of technology that I’ve ever had the pleasure of getting my hot little hands on!

Just a note, You missed the Northwest Territories. Sadly didn’t forget Nunavut, which came after it split from the NWT. But meh, no GSM in either, rogers or fido dont work up there, so it would be interesting to see they are actually using an iPhone in those two territories. Considering as well the only carrier north of alberta is Bell Mobility.
All that said, glad I moved to Calgary, Alberta, from the great white North, and I love my iPhone.
People how you access internet? I bought unlocked iPhone on eBayand it works with FIDO sim. I can make phonecalls, I can also go to internet through ordinary 5 cent/kb option, but it is more then $50 for one MB (!!!) FIDO said that their unlimited package doesn’t work on iPhones, and even if I had that package whey would charge me at 5 cent/kb rate. Please help me.

I am using my iphone unlocked on Rogers Pay as you go in Thunder Bay, Ontario. I bought it from ebay 3 months ago and have had no problem with it. Monthly Cost is 60 bucks a month in airtime and an extra 10 bucks for one month unlimited text messaging. Data is free, over wifi… and cellular data is disabled because it’s a complete ripoff since the wifi works so well
