With the release of iOS 6.1, the new Evad3rs jailbreak team (@pod2g, @planetbeing, @pimskeks, @musclenerd) looks to be releasing their jailbreak soon. @MuscleNerd just sent out the following tweet, hinting it could come on Superbowl Sunday:
— Ⓜ MuscleNerd (@MuscleNerd) January 28, 2013
MuscleNerd and the iPhone Dev Team has been known to release jailbreaks and unlocks on ‘Sunday Funday’.
@Planetbeing has also just confirmed iOS 6.1 is vulnerable to all the exploits they are planning on using:
iOS 6.1 appears to be vulnerable to the exploits we are planning on using. 🙂

He also goes on to note “in terms of code, we have two proof of concepts that we need to merge and polish, so we will not be ready to release until that and testing.” So there is no guarantee a release is coming if bugs aren’t squished, but there are six days of testing ahead of them.
iOS 6.1 jailbreak. This Sunday. Who’s excited?
Update: Prospective jailbreakers should update to iOS 6.1 using iTunes, opposed to the over the air update
If you people plan to upgrade to iOS 6.1 please don't do an OTA upgrade. Please make a full restore using iTunes.
