Apple’s MacBook Air to Get ‘All-New Design’ in 2022, Details Kuo
According to Apple analyst (and crystal ball holder) Ming-Chi Kuo, the MacBook Air is set for a complete design overhaul in 2022, reiterating his previous report from last month.
A new research note issued today by Kuo details the changes, reports MacRumors. The new MacBook Air will have an “all-new design”, come in more colour options and launch in mid-2022. The laptop will also have a mini LED display, found in Apple’s high-end 12.9-inch iPad Pro.
Kuo says the MacBook Air design will be similar in nature to the upcoming rumoured 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models expected to debut later in 2021.
Just wanted to share some details on when to expect the next generation M2 (not the M1X which is reserved for the Pro Mac devices). This processor is on track to release in the first half of 2022 alongside the upcoming colorful Macbook (Air).

As for pricing, Kuo says if the existing M1 MacBook Air ceases production, the new mini LED display version could replace it. But if the M1 MacBook Air remains available for purchase, it could get a price cut, says the analyst.
