iMac buyers had a pleasant surprise today: Apple has added new Flash storage options, so instead of the 1 TB hard drive, you can pick up versions with either a 256 GB Flash storage, which adds another $300 to the total cost, or 512 GB $600 extra.

As noted by MacRumors, the 21.5-inch iMac had no dedicated flash storage options, it only came with the standard 1 TB traditional hard drive and a $250 Fusion Drive option.
The 27-inch iMac did offer a 768 GB SSD before this update, but its price was $900. Now, if you are after a 27-inch iMac, you can choose between the traditional 1 TB hard drive, 3 TB hard drive for another $150, 1 TB Fusion Drive ($250), a 3 TB Fusion Drive ($400), and three Flash Storage options: 256 GB, 512 GB and 768 GB, so speeding up your computer’s performance has become more affordable.
