Minor MacBook Air Refresh Said to Be Unveiled Tomorrow

Apple is about to refresh its MacBook Air line of laptops, multiple sources have confirmed to 9to5Mac. The sources corroborate an earlier rumour about a Tuesday launch of new MacBook Air models saying that the new models have begun arriving at Apple Stores across the US.

Last week, French blog MacGeneration reported that its sources had heard about a product update targeting 11- and 13-inch portable computers. The forthcoming 11- and 13-inch MacBook Air models are codenamed J41A and J43A, respectively, and their SKUs are simply variations of to the current MacBook Air SKU labels, 9to5Mac’s sources say.

Also, the same voices are whispering that tomorrow’s update will be centered around Intel’s latest-generation Haswell chips, which feature minor speed increases, and the new models will likely bring more storage options.

There were rumours about a much thinner 12-inch model with no fan and possibly a Retina display – 264 ppi just like the iPad Air if analyst Daniel Matte is right – but this isn’t that model.
