Apple Promotes Mergers and Acquisitions Head Adrian Perica to VP of Corporate Development

Apple mergers and acquisitions head Adrian Perica has been promoted to VP of Corporate Development.

According to a new report from Bloomberg, mergers and acquisitions head Adrian Perica has been with Apple for just about a decade, and now the long-time presence is being promoted to an executive role as VP of Corporate Development at the company.

“Perica joined Apple in 2009 and was instrumental in deals such as the 2014 purchase of Beats and the investment in China-based ride-hailing service Didi Chuxing,” reads the report. “He’s an under-the-radar operator who oversees the acquisition and integration of companies that Apple acquires as well as strategic investments.”

On Wednesday evening, Apple updated its corporate leadership page, indicating that Adrian Perica has been named the company’s newest executive. Specifically, Perica is named the new Vice President of Corporate Development and will be answering directly to Apple’s CEO Tim Cook. In the new role, Perica will be handling Apple’s strategic investing efforts, acquisitions, and the company’s mergers.

Since joining Apple in 2009, he has overseen the successful integration of vital technologies and new businesses across hardware, software and services. Prior to Apple, Adrian worked at Goldman Sachs for eight years and before that, he worked at Deloitte Consulting and was an officer in the US Army. A Midwest native, Adrian holds a bachelor’s degree in Physics from the United States Military Academy at West Point and an MBA from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

“Perica is now one of fewer than 20 executives who report directly to the CEO,” continues the Bloomberg report. “That group includes Chief Operating Officer Jeff Williams, Chief Design Officer Jony Ive and Maestri. Mike Fenger and Doug Beck, sales vice presidents, report to Cook despite not being featured on Apple’s executive leadership website.”

Before joining Apple, Perica was a banker at Goldman Sachs for eight years and also worked at Deloitte Consulting. He also served as an officer in the United States Army. Perica holds a degree in physics from the United States Military Academy at West Point, as well as an MBA from MIT.
