Alleged iPhone 6 Metal Housing Leak Suggests Bigger Display, Thin Body

The iPhone 5s and the iPhone 5c were just released last September, but the rumour mill has already started to spill some information about the forthcoming iPhone. Chinese leaker site C-Tech has just posted a couple images of what they claim to show the metal casing of the iPhone 6 (via G4Games).

Rumours of a bigger-screen iPhone have been circulating for a while now — just earlier this week, another Chinese site, Huanqui, reported that the next-generation high-end iPhone will sport a 5-inch display and will be launched this spring.

The images leaked by C-Tech through their Weibo account, however, seem to corroborate these earlier rumours about an Apple “phablet.” As you can see from the above image, the device will, indeed, be thin, but since it is still unverified information, it should be taken with a grain of salt.

No phablet please…Thinner ok but not bigger. Please…Work on the OS to make it more flexible like Android but stop playing with the hardware…

5 inches is hardly a phablet. In fact, it’s barely adequate. I’m not upgrading until Apple enlarges the phone, which is very likely since it will allow for bigger battery, something Apple needs to address anyway.

You don’t want a bigger-screen iPhone, don’t buy it. Many others, myself included, want it.

I prefer something that fits in my pocket … Not a backpack.

And when they announce it they’ll make it sound as though they’re creating a new product category.

A larger iPhone at this point seems inevitable, just a matter of when. #justtakemymoney

4,7″ to 5″ would be perfect ! I absolutely love the Nexus 5 display screen and think it is big enough to offer a large display and great features while being compact enough to be borrowed everywhere and fits in your pocket. I understand some of you are scared, I was too, but the iPhone 5S looks like a midget compared to the S4 ans Nexus 5. Get one on hands on, forget about the OS and the brand and just imagine having iOS on this beautiful big screen. Havin a bigger phone also means more space for a battery, which is one of iPhone’s worst nightmares. I don’t really think we need thinner and lighter than the iPhone 5S, we need better specs primary.

I’m curious as to how many people have battery issues with their iPhone? I don’t, and in my experience it’s always my friends with S3s or S4s that seem to be depleting their battery in a matter of hours. I have no problem making it through the day

Same here. Never had any battery issues ever with 2G, 3GS, 4S, or 5.
