Amazon Canada is rolling out Amazon Charts for the country, a weekly bestseller list that shares the most read and sold books across all formats each week.
Amazon has long relied on customers providing feedback and other ranking data as part of the process of encouraging more sales on its platform, and now the e-commerce giant is expanding its twist on the book chart.
Today, Amazon Canada announced Amazon Charts, a kind of bestseller list that will give Canadian users a top 20 list of “most read” books on Amazon in the country — a new metric that combines how much books are read on Kindle and listened to via Audible.
Amazon Canada will also provide a new kind of “most sold” top 20 list, which will now include not just books sold and pre-ordered, but those that are also borrowed each week on Amazon.ca, Audible, and Amazon Books. It will also provide other selective stats and data about their sales in the process.
When exploring Amazon Charts, readers can browse insights into how other readers are reacting to each book. From which Kindle titles were Highly Quotable, according to the rate customers highlight passages in the book, to which were simply Unputdownable, according to how quickly customers read a book from cover to cover, there are a number of metrics available.
Another fun feature of Amazon Charts includes All Ears, which showcases the most popular books amongst Audible Listeners each week.
