Check Out The 20 Most Embarrassing Android Powered iPhone X Copycats

The flood of knockoff notches on Android smartphones trying to copy the iPhone X got started last year with the Leagoo S9, which reached its peak with the Noa N10 last month. With so many Android phone makers continuing to shamelessly rip off the notched display design of the iPhone X, it’s actually getting difficult to keep count.

To make things easy, the folks over at BGR have shared a handy image that lays out 20 of the most embarrassing iPhone X copycats from renowned Android manufacturers in a single graphic. Unsurprisingly, the vast majority of iPhone X copycats come from smaller Chinese brands, although bigger Android vendors have also decided to steal the notch design, including Huawei, Asus, Sharp, and even LG.

Android phone makers have been copying Apple for so long now that they don’t even pretend to have any shame anymore. Yes, of course Apple apes features from Android phones as well, but it’s not exactly the same thing. Whereas Apple might steal a feature here and there, Android device makers unabashedly steal key elements of Apple’s hardware design and its flagship software features. Would you ever see Apple release a smartphone with curved edges exactly like Samsung’s Galaxy S phones? No, of course not.

Check out the graphic below and share your thoughts in the comments section.

Hey that Goophone X seems to have gotten it right if you can believe the photo.

Weird to include the Essential as a copy cat, since it was so months and months before the X…and it’s a tiny notch.

Essential PH1 was announced in May, 2017 and released in Aug 2017 (courtesy of GSMArena), whereas a iPhone X was announced in Sept 2017 and Released Oct 2017 (GSMArena again). This hardly gives Apple enough time to copy the notch as Apple goes through rigorous process with months of testing before releasing a significant hardware design.

Having said that, I don’t believe Essential PH1 copied the notch as well as it just doesn’t have the same look and appeal.
