Apple CEO Tim Cook Meets with Government Officials in China, Speaks with Students

On Wednesday, Apple CEO Tim Cook continued his tour in China where he went on a tour of a high school in Beijing that deeply integrates the iPad into its learning curriculum.

Following that, Cook also dropped by Peking University Fuzhong Chaoyang Future School in Beijing, which he called “truly a model school”. During a presentation to students and faculty, Cook said:

“Thank you, Chaoyang Future School, for an eye-opening visit today! I’m incredibly impressed by the talent and passion of your students, teachers and staff.”

The Peking University Fuzhong Chaoyang Future School is one of the first schools in China to adopt the company’s “Everyone Can Create” curriculum, which heavily relies on the iPad hardware and software to help the faculty create immersive learning content across several subjects.

During his time in China, Cook also met with Communist Party Secretary of Shanghai Li Qian to discuss future development in the city that would be funded by Apple. Li said that he is hoping that Apple will play a bigger role in promoting fair trade between Shanghai and the United States.

It is not known as to whether or not Cook has met or will meet with any additional government officials during his trip.
