“Apple is dedicated to supporting the worldwide response to COVID-19,” said Cook. “Our design, engineering, operations and packaging teams are also working with suppliers to design, produce and ship face shields for medical workers,” added the CEO.
Cook says eventually Apple hopes to ship face shields beyond the U.S. and urged people to stay home, “stay safe and stay healthy.”
In late March, Cook announced on Twitter Apple was donating 10 million N95 masks to medical workers. Today, he provided an update, saying, “we’ve now sourced over 20M masks through our supply chain.”
Apple also recently launched a COVID-19 screening tool app and website for users in the U.S., while yesterday, the Canadian App Store featured a public service announcement from the federal government, pleading with people to help ‘flatten the curve’.
