Back in 2009, Apple setup a reserve and pick up system for the holidays to allow online orders to be picked up at Apple Retail stores from December 15-24. Currently, this option is available for customers that want to purchase a factory unlocked iPhone 4S from Apple.
Now, it appears the Reserve and Pick Up option could be on its way back soon, possibly in time for the holiday season, based on what some users have experienced during their iPhone 4S reserve and pick up check outs. iPhoneinCanada.ca reader @shyguy attempted to reserve and pick up an iPhone 4S at his local Apple Store when he was sent to the following page:

Given the existing implementation of of Reserve and Pick Up for the iPhone 4S, I wouldn’t be surprised if this option did make a come back for the 2011 holiday season for all products. Expect to hear an announcement by the end of the first week of November, if it’s going to happen.
