Apple Was the 4th-Most Visited Website in 2021, Says Cloudflare

Leading web infrastructure and website security company Cloudflare recently announced the top 10 most visited websites on the internet for the year 2021.

Apple.com came in at number 5, while TikTok saw a meteoric rise from number 7 in 2020, to dethroning Google and claiming the number 1 spot on the list in 2021.

TikTok’s rise to the top also knocked Apple down a rung, from number 4 last year to number 5 in 2021. Take a look at Cloudflare’s list of top 10 most visited domains for both 2021 and 2020 below:

  1. TikTok.com
  2. Google.com
  3. Facebook.com
  4. Microsoft.com
  5. Apple.com
  6. Amazon.com
  7. Netflix.com
  8. YouTube.com
  9. Twitter.com
  10. WhatsApp.com
  1. Google.com
  2. Facebook.com
  3. Microsoft.com
  4. Apple.com
  5. Netflix.com
  6. Amazon.com
  7. TikTok.com
  8. YouTube.com
  9. Instagram.com
  10. Twitter.com

It should be noted that this ranking takes into account the number of times each domain name and all of the services it hosts (so for Apple, that would also include the App Store, Apple TV+, iCloud, etc.) are pinged by client devices across the World Wide Web, not just how many times users have manually visited the domain itself in an internet browser or the like.

Despite a number of TikTok competitors like YouTube’s ‘YouTube Shorts’ and Meta Platforms Inc.’s ‘Reels’ for Instagram debuting this year, TikTok managed to defend its foothold and have a vibrant 2021.

Apple has enjoyed an excellent year as well, despite a global chip shortage and mounting supply chain bottlenecks, as the iPhone maker inches ever closer to hitting a $3 trillion USD market capitalization.
